Fourth floor
On the fourth floor is CIER's sacred space, and all resources for the education program: classrooms, instructor offices, the Library, Elder's office, and computer and laboratory facilities.

|
Sacred Space
Integral to the design of the facility, care was taken to align the entrances into this space with the four directions of the earth. The sacred space provides CIER with a culturally significant meeting place for staff, students and visitors, and is used to conduct sharing circles, meetings and to hold other important events. |
 |
Classroom
This is one of two classrooms used to instruct students enrolled in CIER's national Environmental Education and Training Program (EETP). With 9 big windows - some operable - facing S & W and 14' ceilings, this large space is very conducive to learning. |
 |
Lab Area
Tucked in one corner of the larger classroom (shown above) is this laboratory area. Yet another example of CIER's use of ISOBORD, this was a primary consideration during the design of this new facility. |
 |
Library
The CIER library is a very unique collection consisting of First Nation environmental material, core western environmental texts and material that integrates traditional ecological knowledge with western scientific theory. Used primarily by CIER's students and staff, others are welcome to visit the collection. |
